THEME : PREPARING TO MEET YOUR LORD.
SCRIPTURE READINGS: Matthew. 25:21, Hebrews 9:27.
Intro. song: Are you ready when the Lord shall come.
The parable according to Matthew tells us about three (3) servants who were given talents according to their strength and capabilities by their master. The master gave the first person five (5) talents and the second person he gave two (2) talents and the third person he gave one (1) talent.
The master then departed after giving them the talents and on his return he called the three servants to give an account on the talents given to them. The first person was able to give good accounts, likewise the second person but third person was unable to give any account but rather, said to his master, you reap where have not sown and harvest where you have not gathered, so here is your talent. The master said to him, you bad and a wicked servant. This parable is also related to you and I. Jesus Christ has given us the mandate to live our lives according to the purpose of God. He has given each and every one of us the number of years to live on earth and he will come back for us to account for our life lived on earth.
In this case we are also like the three servants he gave talents to. Jesus Christ died for you and I on the cross of Calvary, took our punishment and disgrace as well. He expects as to live according to the standards of God, by living a good moral and an upright life. We will give an account of how we lived our lives on earth. (Hebrews 9:27). Brethren let’s not be deceived that after death nothing happens, for it will be a terrible on the day of judgement and what account are you going to give to your maker in heaven. Never forget you are a servant and have been given talents of which you are going to account for.
