Justice Adzakuma, the guy who lost his eye during the Let My Vote Count (LMVC) demonstration, passed away on the 12 of May, 2019 at a hospital at Malam in Accra. Justice was part of the group that fought for H.E. Prez Nana Akufo Addo after the 2012 elections. He lost his left eye when the police brutalized him in the process.
To know what caused the fight; Some members of the Let My Vote Count Alliance clashed with the police during a demonstration exercise to demand new voters’ register in the run-up to the 2016 general election.
The Police in their bid to restore peace and order released rubber bullets, tear gas and water cannons on the protesters who were demanding the compilation of a new voters’ register before the general elections.
Several people sustained injuries, including Justice Adjakuma, who lost one eye.
When the party won power in 2016, NPP executives and the government appointees ignored Justice. The party could have even offer him a job that could help him to take care of himself but they refused and neglected him.
His friends in NPP who got appointments also ignored him. How could Justice feel when Owusu Bempah (aka Aboa Apapo) was employed as Ghana Gas PRO when Justice was unemployed. Today, Justice is dead 💀 as an unemployed graduate. May His Soul Rest In Peace!
When the LMVC group was fighting tirelessly for the party to win power, some kids of NPP gurus were having fun in the western world. After the party won power, their parents found jobs for them in Ghana to go back home and settle. Typical examples are Gyankromah Akufo Addo (daughter of the president) and the two sons of Osafo Maafo (Senior Minister).
This same senior minister told the NPP youth who struggled for the party that there were no jobs for them. He said it right at the time he secured two top government positions for his two kids. Is this not selfishness and greediness on the part of Mr. Yaw Osafo Maafo?
Confirming the sad news, Convener of the pressure group, Let my vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) Mr. David Asante said, Mr. Adzakuma “served well his generation and his name will be remembered as a gallant Soldier who fought well for the consolidation of our electoral process and our Democracy”.
Now, I’m wondering what the NPP party will tell the late Justice Adzakumah’s family. This should be a learning curve for all Ghanaian youth who are planning to fight and die for the politicians in 2020. Wise up and mind your own business!
