Delegates in the Ajumako-Eyan-Essiam of the Central Region have grabbed cars from one of the parliamentary aspirants in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in orphan constituencies in the country.
An aspiring candidate for area, Elisha Debrah Odoom who got social media talking after images of the cars were towed to the constituency, is reported to have shared 11 saloon cars to the party on Election Day.
Mr. Debrah Odoom is contesting with three others including the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Ransford Kwesi Nyarko. He is reported to have parked the vehicles branded with his posters at the venue for the primaries.
In all, a total of 14 aspirants are contesting the NPP orphan constituencies in the Central Region with the aim to book a ticket for the party ahead of the 2020 polls.
In view of this the party opened nominations in the four constituencies where the party does not have sitting MPs. Ajumako Eyan Essiam, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem(KEEA), Agona East and Cape Coast South are some of these constituencies.
