President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed a new Inspector General of Police to take over from David Asante Apeatu.
In a statement signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, the president has asked David Asante Apeatu to proceed on leave with immediate effect.
The statement also confirmed that the president as appointed the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh to act in his stead.
The president also thanked Mr. Apeatu for his many years of service to Ghana and wished him well in his retirement.
