The development of African countries largely depends on investing enough in technology.
This is according to Jacob Kwaku Gyan, the Chief Executive Officer of a technology company in Ghana, Adroit 360.
He believes more education about technology amongst African youth is the surest way to equip them for what lies ahead in the future.
Addressing the audience as one of the guest speakers at the International Finance Corporation (IFC)’s Sustainability Exchange in Dakar, Senegal, Mr, Gyan noted that technology if judiciously used can alleviate poverty.
“If you are looking at investing in young people, digital technology is the way to go. I am so passionate about young people and technology. Technology is driving the future. Countries that pay particular attention and make it development inclusive in their education process will definitely triumph and see an improvement in the standard of living. Almost every African country I have visited has the same problem of poor technology penetration. If we do not pay particular attention to youth development with an emphasis on developing IT and data skill, then we have nothing for the future. But if we do then the future is bright because technology is here to make our lives better”.
Mr. Gyan asked country leaders and influential individuals to extend the opportunity for the youth to excel in the endeavours.
“Believe in your people and give them the chance to excel. The future belongs to the young ones so we need to be given the opportunity and helped”.
Jacob Kwaku Gyan is the CEO of Adroit 360, a premium preferred tech startup that offers software management services, social media management services, mobile apps and websites to businesses in Ghana and beyond.
The 25-year-old was listed as part of the speakers at the International Finance Corporation (IFC)’s Sustainability Exchange.
The Forum convenes game changers in infrastructure, natural resources, science, and the arts to challenge assumptions and build a pipeline of sustainable investments across Africa and the globe.
