After intensive practical training, the Virtual Industrial Attachment (VIRA) ended with a closing ceremony held at Ceremonial grounds, Koforidua Technical University Campus on Thursday, 20th June 2019. The programme which lasted for three weeks had about a total students’ participant of 1,558
This year’s VIRA programme has recorded the highest number of participants since its introduction some 10 years ago on campus.
The Pro VC, Rev. Dr Nicholas Apreh Siaw made this revelation in his speech delivered during the event

All so soon we have come to the end of this three-week programme
During these days, although we have had different programmes of study, we have all shared a common goal and vision of acquiring hands-on practical training in the fields of our study through the reliable mentorship of our trusted and highly experienced resource persons who mentored you, both here and outside your virtual offices here on campus.
During these days of intense training and mentorship, the focus of Management has been how to record a better overview of the state of training and delivery of practical training over the past experienced programmes.
Indeed, I need to commend the officers of the Industrial Liaison Office for being able to organize this whole programme amidst the intensity of pressure to combine supervision of this programme with other official assignments.
I would also want to use this opportunity to congratulate our renowned and most experienced resource persons for making time to train our students for all these weeks at the expense of their own carrier job time.
Last but not least, on behalf of Management, I stand proud and commend all of you students for keeping up such positive appearances and comporting yourselves to the fullest in ensuring such a smooth training programme

This year, 1,558 students took part in the VIRA Programme, is almost 8% increment of the previous year
Although there may have been some hitches in the programme one way or the other, perfection is one thing nobody has been able to master and I believe we would learn to improve from it.
I am sure and without any doubt in my mind that, a day is coming that the University would have its own VIRA or industrial attachment village to train students in a more fashionable industrial manner.
I congratulate all the organizers, coordinators, facilitators and participants for such a fantastic exhibit of professionalism before and during this programme.
On this note, and by the powers conferred on me, I declare this year’s VIRA programme officially closed.
