And 4 final year students believed to be in their mid 20’s and from the Computer Networking department escaped death yesterday (28-05-19) around 6:05 pm after being crossed by an unknown taxi driver, are receiving treatment at the Central hospital.
One popularly known as “OPK” was said to be driving the white Toyota Camry with registration number GE-8966-17 at in between Nasco hotel and Capital hotel under the pretext of going to Casabar.
An eyewitness, who narrated the incident to Deinsider.com, said, she’s selling bags by the roadside when she saw the car coming on top speed using the other lane from campus heading to Casabar she guesses. It was perceived, the driver was under the influence of alcohol because of how he was driving, and thus, he tried to make things controllable but he couldn’t.
A taxi driver from know where crossed them and all of a sudden, all that she saw was the car somersaulting.
“I was frightened to move towards them because of how the incident occurred but a lady friend of mine asked me to, so I quickly shouted for help. 4 boys came out of the car, 3 unhurt and 1 who was sitting right beside the driver was severely injured”, the eyewitness recounted.
Helpers were quickly called to the scene and with their assistance, one of the victims was rushed to the Central Hospital, where he is currently responding to treatment.
