Ghana a country that is blessed both in human and material resources have recently been plagued with state of insecurity and its very sad for we the peoples outside the country and those at home. The issue of this insecurity became rampant and all sundry condemned the act thinking government was going to listen to the plea and address this menace but it seems expectation of the ordinary Ghanaian wasn’t met as far as this menace is concerned.
As Ghana develops it’s imperative, President Akuffo Addo first demonstrated patriotism and nationalist attitudes towards the well being of our dear nation and it’s characters prior to 2016 general election but after he won, we’ve seen nothing. Power they say change human, but this current president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has assented and his actions is given citizens of this dear nation a sour taste of their own sweat.
It’s mind blowing to comprehend, the state of insecurity in the country to the extent that all life’s are at risk under the reign of this current government.
Ghanaian’s need to vote for someone who will care about their well-being and ensure that, the state security agencies work with integrity unlike what the country is experiencing under the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. the issue of insecurity has to be a thing of the past.
I vividly recall President Akufo Addo, then candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2012 introduced the phenomenon of militant vigilantism by encouraging the youth in his party to be armed and aggressive to ensure that the NPP wins power at all cost. The just recent State sponsored violence at Ayawaso West Wuogon is still fresh in the minds of the ordinary citizens, where innocent Ghanaians were shot which NDC MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, also suffered assault by heavily armed thugs.
Aside the numerous kidnappings, Ghanaians are worried over contract killings which seem to be heightening despite our President’s 2016 campaign promise to make Ghana safe.
Thus to say, since the inception of this regime, the attack on the Judiciary and Police service demonstrates the lack of will and candor in addressing security related matters of this nation.
The recent importation of large cache of pump action and shot gun into the country under this regime gives a clear cut indication of increases in tension unduly.
Ghana’s security was intact under his Excellency President John Dramani Mahama. The numerical strength of the police and security service improved massively, that goes to affirm the strength of the security operatives in terms of numbers and resources.
Mr. President my key pivotal question to you is what served as a drive factor in opposition that led you in making unfortunate pronouncements that our country under the erstwhile administration decries of insecurity? One may ask are you a security expert to justify that our security situation was bad then? What parameters did you use to arrive at this position? This connotes fact that you were just spewing words to gain political points but didn’t meant to address the menace as you claimed. No wonder you can’t differentiate the truth from the noise.
There’s this assertion that, under governance, the top most priority every citizen deserves is a sound mind. It’s better to live in comfort than to enjoy policies without security.
The fundamental issue a Ghanaian must consider going into election 2020 is, safety. Ask yourself whether your safety is secured or not before making your decision.
Vote Mahama; Secure your Safety.
