Opinion Polls
In the run up to the SRC general election, 2019, we carried out opinion polls to gauge voting intention in KTU. Results of these polls were displayed to voters.
The polls we conducted, the highest voter turnout was 1,757 votes out of 7,000+ students and these polls were not authenticated, meaning anyone who has the link could vote
“Opinion polls” is when people are asked questions to discover what they think about a subject
We want to assure Aspirants and Students of KTU that, our polls can not be taken as the true interpretation of the election.
To some students, this might be the first time hearing of opinion polls and we can sight lots of elections during which opinion polls were conducted both locally and internationally
Some students have come on us, stating the polls were bias, issues of authentication, and we are doing the work of the EC. As mentioned earlier, these are opinions of students and interested stakeholders
We don’t intend to align with any candidate or destroy anyone political career, what we believe is that, the polls will put Aspirants to working harder in their campaign
