MTN Ghana has announced a compensation package for its data customers who last week suffered disruption to their internet services due to cuts to a submarine cable.
A press statement issued by the company said all data customers on MTN Ghana’s network will receive free 2GB data which will be valid for 2 days.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Selorm Adadevoh in the statement remarked: “We appreciate customers for their patience and support during the period of the disruption”.
The statement further added that the compensation will be sent directly to customers’ data accounts and not through any other channel.
“MTN Ghana remains committed to its mission to make the lives of customers a whole lot brighter through continuous investments in network and technology infrastructure,” the company concluded.
Last week, millions of customers of the country’s largest mobile network operator were left without reliable internet for more than 48 hours as the company battled to fix cuts to the West Africa Cable System’s submarine cable which supplies internet to customers.
