Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Shay has cemented her position as one of the best female musicians in the music industry and she’s no doubt will stay in her position for long.
The ‘Uber Driver’ has, however, cautioned female musicians to concentrate on doing good music rather than putting their God-given assets on display in a bid to sell their music.
According to Wendy, th long-held perception that ‘sex sells’ is fictional, urging her female colleagues that one does not need to ride on the fact that putting their body on display will sell them more than doing good music.
She added that a musician can flaunt her body but if she does not produce good music, she will not be successful at the music business.
“Sex sells but it doesn’t mean that you have to be going naked. You don’t have to be nude for your music to sell. I think the main thing is the music,” she told Sammy Flex asked on ‘Real Talk.’
“If you keep on showing your ass and your boobs and the music is not good, it’s not gonna sell,” she added.
When asked if she has never played the ‘sex sells’ trick herself, she said it is not a thing she would intentionally do.
“It’s not intentional. I embrace my sexiness and womanhood like I always say so everything that I do is very natural we’ve never really planned anything like that,” she stated.
