A 15-year-old Ghanaian, Adom Appiah, who is an author and a philanthropist is using sports as a tool to touch many lives in South Carolina, specifically Spartanburg.
When he was in 7th grade, his teacher urged Adom and his classmates to spend a fraction of the time they spend in class embarking on a social project.
That was the beginning of the journey as the young Ghanaian started this project relentlessly.

This coincides with his family’s love for community service. Adom, who is also a sportsman chose to link the various parts of his life together to create the impact he desired.
He embarked on the philanthropic project in the line of sports.
The project attracted more can 800 people who attended the very first celebrity game Appiah Adom organized, each person paying $5.
Included in the whopping number of people in attendance were many distinguished people such as local elected officials, business leaders, and former NFL players.
With mentorship from a leader in the community named Mary Thomas, Adom has been able to accrue more funds for the charitable project through several games.
Along that line, the promising young philanthropic also published 3 books titled “Kids Can Change the World” which came in two versions and “Bounce Back from Failure”

Per a report by face2faceafrica.com, Adom’s project awarded $16,000 to four charity organizations, supported several children with cancer and distributed lots of goods to needy people in the locality.
Adom Appiah, the hero behind the movement was mentioned as part of the 25 youth who received the Global Barron Prize for Young Heroes.
Apart from getting featured by various media houses, the young Ghanaian has received recognition form the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards as a state honoree.
